Todd Cade – Passed Away While Waiting

Back in 1993 I was having severe back pain, so I went to the doctor and that’s when I found out I was in renal failure. The news felt like a blow to my mind, especially at the age of 27. I was married to the love of my life, we had 3 kids, and we were on our way to fulfilling our dreams to having our own business. I was fortunate to have received a kidney from my brother, which helped for 13 years.

I eventually had to go on dialysis and I have been on the waiting list for 12 years now. Sometimes it gets depressing, especially when you see others getting a kidney transplant. For me finding a match is a little more difficult because of my red blood cells.

My wife and I always wanted to travel with our kids and grandkids, but I don’t have the energy to do a lot with them. If I receive a kidney transplant, then I would pursue the things I love to do like getting back into to my own business, having date nights with my wife, and God willing, seeing my grandkids grow up.
